Be sure to regularly visit for updates to our new website. As we approach the tenth anniversary IX show, we'll be sure to add programming details, logistical information, and other items of interest pertaining to the 2017 IX show.
The Main Show is the heart of the IX experience. Artists are selected from submissions each year by a rotating panel of judges - in the past, our judges have been drawn from the Brandywine, Allentown and Delaware museums, Sotheby's London, Beautiful.Bizarre. Fine Art Connoisseur and Juxtapoz magazines, as well as major galleries, ateliers and realist art organizations.
These artists set up and display their work at the show for a full five days, hanging in galleries covering 18,000 square feet on three floors of the GoggleWorks Center for the Arts. Artist space sizes vary, ranging from 8 linear feet to over 20 linear feet, with an average size of around 13 linear feet.
With over 90 artists selected for the Main Show, the amount of artwork on display - and for sale - each year is immense. In the past, individual artwork sales have ranged from under $100 to over $20,000, presenting work for every taste and every budget.
Many artists choose to sketch or paint at their spaces during the show, adding impromptu demonstrations to the gallery floors.

Michael C. Hayes
"I've shown my art at every single IX since it started in 2008. It's a gathering I look forward to every year, a chance to get together with fellow artists and collectors. What started as a small group of fantasy art loving friends has bloomed into the largest curated show of fantasy art in the world."
"The arts are one of the most intensely competitive professions that exist, and yet I have found the community that surrounds IX to be amongst the most genuinely supportive and generous groups out there.
It is always the highlight of my year, both professionally and personally, and I consider it to be an essential experience for any artist working in the imaginative realism field."
"Being a part of the Main Show is an honor, to me. The first year I submitted, I was juried in to the Main Show, and when I first got there to set up, the artists who surrounded me were not only displaying incredible artwork, but were so welcoming, supportive, and down-to-earth that any feeling of self-induced 'imposter syndrome' I might have had soon fell by the wayside. It's the friendships I've made with artists and collectors alike through showing at IX that have me looking forward to coming back each time. This is my tribe. The altruism, encouragement, and inspiration are all part of the experience of what IX is all about. The fact that I have the chance to see all the amazing work in person is a pretty nice bonus as well."
